The
Kerber's Lush
Paradise of Eden
(a.k.a.
Backyard)

The right side of the
backyard, just beyond the front porch. The red line signifies what will
become our brick-paved patio. In the corner will be the water feature. |

The right side of the
backyard, a tad farther back than the photo on the left. Turf is now in
the brick border and there's more plants and such. Two queen palms, a dwarf
palm and a Sisco tree are visible, as well as a boulder. So is SOUTH
MOUNTAIN, our daily panoramic view. |

The waterfall in development,
or severe lack thereof. |

Still in development,
this represents a near completion photo of our water feature. Not sure how
the while extruding pipe plays into all of this, but we shall see...
|

The last "in-construction"
photos - this time of our patio. The litterbox-looking powder on the left
side is packing sand. |

The pattern the bricks
will appear in will be the same with the finished product, but the landscapers
forgot to include a red/brown "splash" color, which will add a
little more color to the comjpleted patio. |

Angle from the water
feature, also shows two natal plum bushes. |

These flagstone-style
slabs will go between the paio areas. Think of them as very giant stepping
stones. |

Dwarf palm and boulder,
located just outside the back door. |

One of the three boulders
in the backyard, this one is located in the center of the backyard. Each
one had to be brought via three guys and a wheelbarrow. |

Bottle brush tree - it
blooms with very fuzzy red flowers. |

Cape honeysuckle plant
- we have 2 of these across the back wall. |

Path light. There are
four of these in the backyard - meant to create lighting as you move from
on big section to the next. |

Feature light. There
are two of these (meant to light up a specific area at night). One is pointed
at the water feature and the other at a Sisco tree. This is also a great
picture to look at to see what our "Desert Brown' gravel looks like.
|
A view of the left
corner of the backyard. You can see the 2nd Sisco tree, Bottle Brush and
part of a Cape Honeysuckle. If you went farther left, you'd see our 3
citrus trees (not yet planted). They will be Pink Grapefruit, Naval Orange
and Lemon. More of South Mountain visible here. |
